Advisory Committees

ICP is delivering real solutions to fundamental workforce development challenges in the distribution channel. We need your help to grow and sustain the pathway.

To ensure each ICP program meets local needs, a volunteer Advisory Committee works with school faculty and administrators to:

  • Tailor the core curriculum to meet the specific needs of local employers and structure of each college.
  • Advise and assist in program planning, implementation and maintenance.
  • Develop resources for on-the-job training through student internships or co-ops.
  • Promote industry careers at school events.
  • Market the ICP program to local employers as a resource for entry-level hiring and continuing education.

As a member of your local Advisory Committee, you will meet regularly with school administrators and industry peers to:

  • Discuss present and future labor market needs.
  • Determine current and emerging career opportunities.
  • Develop short- and long-term goals for the program.
  • Asses the employment status of program graduates.
  • Become familiar with the school’s program and curriculum by reviewing the knowledge, skills and attitudes taught.
  • Help secure funding to ensure initiative sustainability.
