Career Outlook for Industrial Distribution is Bright

Industrial distribution employs more than 3.3 million people in every state and province across the United States and Canada.

These jobs offer interesting challenges, good pay, good working conditions and great career paths. And more than 1 million of those working in industrial distribution hold positions in business-to-business sales—providing solutions, building relationships, offering products and valuable services to industrial customers.

In the next five years, 180,000 new jobs will be created each year in technical and non-technical sales positions. However, there is a great shortage of skilled workers, and there are currently not enough people to fill these jobs.

The graph demonstrates the number of jobs available in each occupation. North America is in need of more industrial distributors than insurance agents.

Industrial distribution needs bright young workers to fill their open positions.
