Tell the Story of Industrial Distribution with Facts
The Millennial generation is more visual than any of the previous generations--think about the popularity of sites like Pinterest and YouTube. With the help of PTDA member Bishop-Wisecarver Corporation (thanks to PTDA Foundation Trustee Pamela Kan), industrial distribution now has an infographic that graphically illustrates the depths and breadth of industrial distribution. What better way to attract the attention of Millennials? The pictures (OK, it does have some words) help convey that industrial distributors are indeed hiring now and will be in the future. Post this link to the infographic on your social media pages and share information about the incredibly rewarding careers available in industrial distribution.

Link to Our New Video on Your Company Website
Our great new video on a day in the life of an outside sales rep (produced by the Gates Corporation, a strong supporter of ICP and the field of industrial distribution) is now on the IDCareers YouTube channel
A demographically-accurate spokesperson (that is, under the age of 30!) talks about his job in industrial distribution. He mentions how he gets to work with cool companies (such as Oskar Blues Brewery) and even notes that sometimes he gets to enjoy a cold one.
How can you use this resource?
- Tell your HR department about the video. Before someone comes in for that first interview, send them to the IDCareers YouTube channel to learn more about your industry.
- Share the video with job seekers as you visit high schools, career fairs and other opportunities.
- Post links to the IDCareers channel or a specific video on your company's website.
- Post links from your company's social media pages.
- Ask your employees to help spread the word through their social media tools--give them the links too.
Do you have videos showing what it's like to work at your company? Send us the links so we can link to them from the Work section of the ICP website.

Doug is a firm believer in the role ICP plays within the industry and is looking forward to the upcoming ICP retreat where the Steering Committee will put plans in place for future years.
